COLA KEYS DOWN IF YOU STAY

Following on from last year's acclaimed debut album Deep In View, art-punk trio Cola (made up of ex-Ought, US Girls/The Weather Station members) release brand new single 'Keys Down If You Stay'. Built around a hi-hat rhythm that arrived in a dream the new track is somewhat subdued with a subtle tension, latent underneath washy guitar chords and singer Tim Darcy's disaffected vocals and off-kilter lyricism. "Evan woke from a dream one morning: the three of us jamming with the memory of this exact drum part still etched in his mind," Darcy explains. "(It) has already become a live staple for us so we were thrilled to finally lay it down earlier this year. Our friend OK Pederson created the brilliant video for the track, a piercing and funny take on Cost Of Living." The group also recently announced a deluxe version of last years Deep In View that features alternate versions of the tracks and instrumental demos out on Fire Talk Records. -Toby Evans-Jesra
